edgeacademyCUSTOMER ENGINEERING
STUDY GUIDE

Learn at your own pace.

A free, independent course in customer engineering, networking, security, and Cloudflare products.

Who this course is for

Students, career changers, application developers, support engineers, and experienced practitioners can all use the course. Basic familiarity with web applications helps. Start with the first module if networking is new to you, or choose a topic from the learning path. No Cloudflare account or paid service is needed for the built-in simulations.

A useful study loop

  1. Read a lesson and explain its main idea without looking.
  2. Try the knowledge check, then read the explanation and linked source.
  3. Mark the lesson complete when you have reviewed it. Completion is your own record, not an automatic assessment.
  4. Work through the module exercise and checkpoint. Use flashcards to revisit terms and labs to practice diagnosis.
  5. Use mock interviews and the final capstone to explain decisions, evidence, and tradeoffs.

Explore all ten modules or start the first lesson.

When can I take a test?

Every lesson check, module checkpoint, mock interview, and capstone is available from the start. There are no prerequisites, deadlines, attempt limits, or locked modules. Try a check before studying to find gaps, or after reading to test recall. Retry whenever you want.

Multiple-choice quizzes compare your selections with the answer key and show an explanation. Study progress uses your latest result for each quiz, not your best score. Skills overlap, so a lesson or quiz may appear under more than one skill. Flashcard familiarity and interview ratings are self-assessments. Exercises, mock interviews, and capstone notes are not graded by AI or a teacher. This site provides practice, not certification or a prediction of hiring success.

Where is my progress stored?

Completed lessons, quiz attempts, flashcard reviews, notes, interview drafts, and theme preferences are saved in local browser storage. There is no account or automatic sync. The course does not send your answers or notes to a server. People using the same browser profile on a shared device may see them.

Progress belongs to this browser, device, and site address. A different browser, private session, local preview, or subdomain has separate storage. Clearing site data, browser cleanup, or ending a private session can erase your work. Browser storage is not a backup.

Export progress as JSON before moving devices or site addresses. Keep the file private: it includes your notes and stories. On the new browser, choose that file, review the import summary, then confirm replacement. Import replaces the current profile; export it first if you want to keep both. If storage is unavailable, the site warns you to export before leaving.

Privacy and public discovery

No analytics, advertising trackers, accounts, or remote answer database are included. Cloudflare delivers the site and may process request metadata for delivery and security. Following a source link takes you to another site's privacy practices. Do not put passwords, customer records, or confidential material in study notes.

The lessons and reference material are public and can be indexed by search engines. The sitemap, llms.txt, and experimental WebMCP tools expose public course content only. WebMCP tools can search and read the course; they do not read, grade, edit, or export your browser progress. Browsers without WebMCP support can use all ordinary study tools.

Sources, examples, and limits

This is independent educational material, not an official Cloudflare training program or collection of actual interview questions. Customer examples are hypothetical. Use your own verified experience in story templates and label labs honestly. Product plans, limits, and behavior can change; follow the sources before making a real deployment decision. Read the review scope and source policy.
